Engagement Guide and Press Release

         The Engagement Guide was a difficult assignment to complete. I’m still not sure if I executed the assignment correctly, but once I landed on a subject, it was fun putting it together. As I produced this guide, I imagined it being circulated to the public and the impact it could have bringing coverage and more money to benefit a program that has impacted a community in more ways than can be listed. This project brought everything we learned this semester together and showed how design can be implemented for guides for a variety of areas. It tied everything together and helped me see the class from a different perspective. Even as I was designing the engagement guide, I was thinking of designs that could benefit other programs and ideas in our area.

         Of course, we cannot discuss the Engagement Guide without discussing the Press Release. My favorite lesson to complete was the Press Release. I enjoyed learning the information behind a press release and when implemented correctly can make all the difference in getting the guide into the hands of the public. A well-constructed business guide with a well written press release can be the perfect boost for the business. The press release was fun to write as a part of the Engagement Guide.

         I might have gotten the entire assignment wrong and been completely off topic, but I did enjoy working on it. Bringing the entire project together and submitting it was like preparing my child for the first day of school. You put in all the work, try to get everything exactly right for them, hand them off, and then hope you did everything correctly.
